As the third season of NECSL (Nueva Ecija Collegiate Sports League) unfolds on Wednesday, August 20, thirteen teams from various colleges and universities around Nueva Ecija will battle it out in the men’s basketball league while twelve teams will compete for the women’s volleyball championship.
Revisit highlights of the NECSL Season 2 opening ceremonies, marked by a fiercely contested cheer dance competition and a colorful confetti symbolizing the fight-to-win spirit of the various competing universities.
At the end of NECSL Season 2, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Phoenix proved their supremacy over thirteen other basketball teams while the Wesleyan University-Philippines (WU-P) Knights emerged the champion in women’s volleyball.
The previous season also saw the heated “basketbrawl” between players of Midway Maritime Foundation Marshalls and Good Samaritan Colleges (GSC) Crusaders. The game results ended in favor of the Marshalls. The GSC Crusaders have also chosen not to return to the court this year.
